How much detail in database entries? Most records contain inventory level information with one photo, but the Silverdale Hoard has been recorded in detail.

 

Are images incorporated? Most records have one image. The Silverdale Hoard has obverse and reverse images and is available via our online collections database.

Have there been numismatic exhibitions in the past? If so, what? Yes. Silverdale hoard has been on display in various locations and is to be exhibited at the Harris Museum & Art Gallery summer 2019. The Waddington Hoard was on display in the Museum of Lancashire before closure.

Is there access to external expertise? If so, who and in what areas? Dr Dot Boughton, used to work here and is still in contact with the Museum Service. We are able to call on her occasionally for assistance with enquiries.
